Reverb Gives Donates $5,000-worth of Music Gear to the Otis Redding Foundation

Macon, GA - The Otis Redding Foundation is excited to announce a new partnership with Reverb Gives, the charitable arm of Reverb.com, the leading online marketplace for buying and selling new, used, and vintage musical instruments.

Reverb Gives has given the Otis Redding Foundation $5,000 in Reverb Bucks, which can be spent on any items on the Reverb.com online marketplace.

“This is such an amazing gift!” says Karla Redding-Andrews, executive director for the Otis Redding Foundation. “Such a generous grant that we are able to spend on Reverb’s amazing inventory will provide our students with some incredible musical instruments. The Foundation’s expanding programming means that we are always looking for new instruments and equipment, and this gift could not have come at a better time.”

The Foundation has already put the donation to good use, investing in drum pads, guitars, instrument storage, and more, all of which were utilized by the 40-plus young artists that took place at the inaugural Camp DREAM, for students ages 5 to 11 years old. The Otis Redding Center for Creative Arts and Otis Music Camp will also benefit from the instruments for use during the summer program (visit www.otisreddingfoundation.org/camp for more information).

"Like the Otis Redding Foundation, we understand what an incredible tool music can be when it comes to empowering and motivating young people. We're grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in these students' musical journeys and we're excited to see what they can achieve with the help of these new instruments," said Heather Farr Edwards, Communications Manager for Reverb.com and Reverb Gives.

About Reverb Gives:
In 2018, music gear marketplace Reverb.com launched its Reverb Gives initiative, which is dedicated to getting musical instruments into the hands of students who need them. A portion of every sale made on Reverb goes to Reverb Gives. From there, teachers, instructors, and leaders at selected music programs across the globe are gifted money to purchase instruments they need for their students directly from sellers on Reverb.
