Otis Redding Foundation celebrates its first year of Camp DREAM

The Otis Redding Foundation is partnered with many Macon organizations such as the Tubman Museum, The Legacy Builders Foundation, Ampersand, Theater Macon, and Goodwill to present Camp DREAM. The four day arts camp was offered to students 5-11 years old.

“I loved it! I got to try new things and meet new people. Piano was my favorite,” Dakota Rowley, Came Dream student said.

Each day, students participated in classes such as songwriting, voice, piano, percussion, dance, and many others to enhance their music education and literacy skills.

“As a parent, I was thankful for the new opportunity Camp Dream brought to our community because it allowed my older daughter a chance to give back and my younger daughter to experience something new," Renae Rowley said.

During the duration of Camp Dream, we had several of our Otis Music Campers volunteer.

We would like to thank all of our Dreamers, staff and partners for making our first Camp DREAM possible. Below is a message from our Center for Creative Arts Director, Sophie Leveille.

“Our inaugural Camp DREAM was such a success! We were lucky to receive an energetic group of students who not only embraced all our classes but excelled in them! In 3 days, students were exposed to every corner of arts education and took classes from passionate instructors who spent a great deal of time crafting classes that were fun would have an impact. We are already busy getting ready for next year's camp, and are excited for what it will have in store!”
