Otis Redding Center for Creative Arts has re-opened its doors

The Otis Redding Foundation recently hosted their 10th annual Otis Music Camp at the Townsend School of Music on Mercer University's campus.

The two-week long camp hosted 60 campers and 34 music coaches. Throughout the camp, the campers discovered new talents and furnished old ones. Their hard work was showcased at the finale show that was held at the Cox Capitol Theatre on June 16.

Although the harmonious tones of Otis Music campers no longer fill the halls of Townsend, there is another place where their voices and instruments can be heard. That place is the Otis Redding Center for Creative Arts.

The center was closed for a short time due to renovations but has re-opened its doors. The Otis Redding Foundation has staffed the center with talented coaches eager to share their music knowledge.

The center offers voice, piano, guitar and percussion lessons and is next door to the Otis Redding Foundation offices located in Downtown Macon.
