DREAM Academy Board member received the Georgia Hospital Association’s 2018 Distinguished Service Award
Starr Purdue, Dream Academy Board member, recently received the Georgia Hospital Association Distinguished Service Award. Starr received this prestigious annual award for her service to Navicent Health and many contributions to our community.
Each year, GHA presents its Distinguished Service Award to a hospital trustee or community leader who has made outstanding contributions to healthcare. Award nominees must meet four criteria in order to be considered for this award. The nominee must be a recognized leader within their community and within their business or profession. He or she must contribute their time and talent to improving the hospital and other healthcare services within their community. The nominee must bring about specific and positive change that advances healthcare services within the community. Finally, the nominee must improve public attention and create public concern for meeting the healthcare needs of the community. We are so very pleased that GHA has recognized Starr’s contributions in these four areas.
The Macon native was a recognized leader within the community and within her profession. It is during her term as Chair of the Navicent Health board that has grown in stature through its well-crafted strategy and community leadership in central and south Georgia. Under her leadership, Navicent Health has received many regional and national awards and recognition in the areas of leadership, quality, equity of care, community and citizenship endeavors.
