2018 Otis Redding Evening of Respect celebrated at the legendary Apollo Theater

This year was a year to celebrate. The foundation celebrated the 10th year of the Otis Music camp and the world celebrated the 50th anniversary of the King of Soul's passing, as well as the 50th anniversary of his hit song, (Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay.

Otis and his legacy lives on and was celebrated at the 2018 Evening of Respect which was held at the Apollo Theater on January 25. The show was sold out and was filled with fans from all over the globe.

The event showcased a variety of musicians and actors. There were performances from the Preservation Hall Jazz band, the Dap Kings, Nikka Costa, Paul Janeway of St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Ty Taylor, Warren Haynes, Marcus King, Ruth B, Jussie Smollett and more.

The Redding family was also in attendance and was even apart of the show. The King's sons, Dexter and Otis III, performed beautiful renditions and his daughter, Karla, was the emcee for the night.

Needless to say, the evening was one to remember and like Otis, the night will not be forgotten.
